Online Therapy, also known as e-Therapy or e-counseling, is an accessible way in which a therapist or counselor provides a safe space for you to freely express yourself, explore your thoughts and feelings, and work through the patterns underlying your concerns This can take place through confidential video and audio conferencing. Therapists work with clients who have a relationship, family, careers, and various other personal difficulties. Therapy is a collaborative process between you and your therapist to explore and manage emotional distress, find new coping resources and expand your self-awareness. You do not have to be diagnosed with a mental health condition to seek support from a therapist.
Therapy may be right for you if you:
- Need a safe space to share your feelings and concerns.
- Have been feeling low and no longer enjoy activities you typically did.
- Notice that your usual coping skills aren’t helping you deal with your problems.
- You find it difficult to build and maintain relationships.
- You find it difficult to control your emotions and your day-to-day functioning is impaired.
- Would like to discover more about yourself and grow as an individual.
Therapy is beneficial to anyone and everyone, and you don’t need to wait for a crisis or a diagnosis to seek professional help.
You don’t need to have a diagnosed concern to seek professional help from a therapist. It is as much a space for self-discovery and personal growth as it is for working through mental health problems like anxiety or depression. Your therapist can help you deal with relationship concerns, family-related concerns, career-related concerns, and other personal issues. They can work with you to explore and manage emotional distress, find new coping strategies, and increase your self-awareness.
Therapists keep client information confidential within the Therapy session. So, what happens in Therapy, stays in Therapy. No information will be shared with a third-party without your permission.
There are limits to this confidentiality in the following circumstances:
- If the therapist believes that the client is at risk of harming themselves or others.
- If the therapist is informed about or suspects abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a minor or of an incapacitated adult.
- If the therapist believes that the client’s mental condition leaves them gravely disabled.
Finding the right therapist is an important step toward receiving professional help. Here are some signs indicating that you’ve found the right therapist:
- You feel comfortable sharing your feelings and experiences openly
- You feel respected and understood
- Your therapist seems professional and qualified
- Your therapist allows you to take the session at your own pace
- Your therapist works with you to create clear goals for your treatment
- Your therapist involves you in the treatment process and seeks regular feedback from you about the sessions
With Woselle, you don’t need to worry about finding the right therapist. We match you to the right therapist when you reach out for help.
To maximize the benefits of therapy, consider the following:

Therapy is a journey of self-discovery that requires time to explore and transform long-held beliefs, experiences, and behavior patterns. While the process may be lengthy, therapists strive to equip you with the awareness and skills necessary to navigate life’s challenges effectively.
On average, our clients typically experience significant progress within approximately 9 to 12 sessions.
Online Therapy or e-counseling involves receiving counseling or psychotherapy services through audio and/or video calls. Here’s why online Therapy is a beneficial option:
- Convenient, affordable, and time-saving, allowing you to access Therapy from the comfort of your own space.
- Maintains confidentiality and provides a safe environment for sharing.
- The online format may appeal to individuals who are hesitant to start Therapy in person.
- Accessible for individuals with disabilities, those who are homebound, or those with physical limitations.
- Available to individuals in remote areas where in-person Therapy may not be accessible.
- Online Therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person Therapy.
Seeking Therapy and opening up about your feelings does not signify weakness. It’s common for many of us to have internalized the belief that seeking Therapy, showing vulnerability, and discussing our emotions is shameful. However, vulnerability can actually be our greatest strength and is the gateway to a more fulfilling life.
While everyone possesses the resources to cope with their challenges, certain overwhelming and persistent patterns may necessitate external assistance, and that’s perfectly okay! Therapists are equipped with the training to comprehend how humans process thoughts and emotions, offering you a fresh perspective. We all have blind spots, and Therapy can provide you with the perspective needed to make more informed decisions.
What to anticipate:
- A secure environment to delve into your concerns
- Establishing and striving towards achievable goals
- A collaborative process between you and the therapist
- Applying newfound insights and lessons from Therapy to your daily life.
Your initial Therapy session offers an opportunity for both you and your therapist to acquaint yourselves. The therapist will collect information about your concerns, discuss your expectations for Therapy, elucidate the Therapy process and their approach, and provide a platform for you to share feedback regarding what works and doesn’t work for you in sessions.
What not to expect:
- An instant remedy for your issues. Your therapist won’t dictate what to do or offer advice but will instead collaborate with you to explore your concerns and empower you to determine how you’d like to address problems or achieve your objectives.
- Therapy may not always be ‘easy’ or ‘comfortable’. Conversations in Therapy may touch on aspects of your life that are uncomfortable, yet these discussions are crucial for growth and healing.
Therapy transcends mere conversation. It involves delving into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with your therapist, fostering reflection and gaining insight into the patterns underlying your concerns. Additionally, you collaborate on identifying and practicing coping strategies, as well as engaging in problem-solving exercises, both during sessions and in the interim.
Therapy is inclusive of individuals of all age groups. In the case of minors (below 18 years), parental or guardian consent is imperative for therapy sessions, and occasionally, the parent or guardian may be involved in the therapeutic process.
You can gauge the effectiveness of your therapy sessions if you:
- Develop a deeper understanding of yourself
- Feel a sense of trust and being understood by your therapist
- Experience increased optimism and notice shifts in your thought patterns
- Observe changes in your behavior and mood, as well as improvements in your relationships
- Utilize therapy-related resources and strategies to address problems outside of sessions
- Demonstrate resilience and adaptability in managing stressful situations
While these indicators suggest that therapy may be beneficial for you, it’s essential to recognize that progress varies for each individual. Moreover, meaningful changes typically occur gradually over time, emphasizing the importance of long-term therapy for sustainable growth and improvement.
Feeling hesitant about opening up to a therapist is completely normal. However, it’s important to remember that a therapist’s role is to listen without judgment. They create a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can explore and practice self-acceptance.
Therapy encompasses various approaches tailored to meet individual needs:
- Psychodynamic Therapies: Techniques like Psychoanalysis delve into unconscious processes to address underlying thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This approach identifies and restructures dysfunctional thought patterns to promote positive behavioral changes.
- Humanistic Therapy: Methods like Client-Centered Therapy prioritize the therapeutic relationship and emphasize an individual’s capacity for rational decision-making and personal growth.
- Eclectic/Integrative Approach: Many Therapists adopt a blend of different therapeutic techniques, customizing their approach to suit each client’s unique circumstances and preferences.
